Spil Games saw 15% Increase of UK Traffic due to early Snow
The earliest snowfall in the United Kingdom since 1993 prevented many people from leaving their homes last monday. Bad for retailers, good for Spil. Because at least some of the people being forced to stay at home apparently decided to kill time by playing on Spil’s UK gaming sites. On monday, 29th November Spil recognized a 15% increase in traffic compared to the average monday. More than 800 schools in the UK were closed and travelling via plane was hard, because most flighty were cancelled. Additionally, some roads were closed, trains delayed…the usual hassle on a cold winters day.
According to Spil, the genres receiving the highest increases were those mainly played by the female audience, but also kids games counted significantly more traffic.
Spil Games’ UK sites include games.co.uk, agame.co.uk and girlsgogames.co.uk. The 15% increase is related to Unique visitors, of which Spil Games counts around 130 million every month from all 47 gaming sites combined.
